Dawood Batcha Educational and Charitable Trust, Chennai, established the RDB College of Education in 2007 with the objective of imparting training in different disciplines of Education with emphasis on practical applications suitable to Indian and Foreign conditions. The ever changing environment requires the training of teachers to meet the challenges of today’s changes. The RDB Colleges of Education has committed in preparing persons to face such changes. The management co-ordinates the effects of various developments which take place all over the world and strives to impart them to the trainees through the development of new methodologies.

After getting approval from NCTE, Bangalore, and the Bharathidasan University, Trichy, it started the B.Ed., Course in the academic year 2007-08. M.Ed., Course was introduced in the academic year 2009-10 with the approval of NCTE Bangalore and Tamilnadu Teachers Education University, Chennai.

After the TNTEU, Chennai, exclusively for teacher Education was formed in 2008-09, all the affiliated B.Ed., Colleges were transferred to this new University and hence, the RDB College of Education is now affiliated to TNTEU. It is a co-educational institution with a student strength of 100 in B.Ed., and 50 in M.Ed., and 20 in M.Phil (Edu.)

The quality policy of the institution enables the students to become self-reliant and successful in their life and to be better citizens of India through commitment, dedication, loyalty and sincerity. The motto of the educational institutions run by the Trust, is ‘AIM HIGH, AIM FAR’.

The Dawood Batcha Educational and Charitable Trust was founded in 1997 with the sole aim of providing education to the underprivileged in rural areas. Focusing particularly on promoting higher education for girls, the trust has opened several educational institutions since its inception.
